Jonathan will be appearing at the next Starfury convention, to be held at the Thistle Hotel, Heathrow, over the weekend of 27-29 November. The event is for fans of Firefly and Battlestar Galactica, and currently announced guests include Firefly’s Sean Maher and Morena Baccarin, and Galactica guests Kate Vernon, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, Lean Cairns and John Heard.

We expect Jonathan to be full of tales from his big trip to Haiti, so it’s not to be missed!

It’s not quite new news but Amber Benson has just tweeted this about Jonathan’s movies, Drones:

Good news for Drones then. Hopefully they’ll be more updates when Drones is completed and where/how people can see it.

As anybody who was at T1 last month will be aware, Jonathan is currently busily trying to raise $15,000 to go to Haiti with The International Association for Human Values to take part in their Project Racine. Now Browncoat Events have set up a page with donation information and ways that you can help Jonathan hit his target, as well as links and more information on the charity and where your money will be going.

Jonathan will be attending Starfury’s Breakout Before Moonlight convention from June 12-14 this year. The event is for fans of Veronica Mars, Moonlight and Angel, and other guests include Jason Dohring, Francis Capra, Jordan Belfi, Keith Szarabajka and Neil Roberts. It will be taking place at the Thistle Hotel, Heathrow. Tickets cost £88.50 and can be purchased from the website or by calling 07930 319 119, Mon-Fri 10am-5pm.

In other news, Jonathan attended Starfury’s T1 event last month in Birmingham. Both Jaina and I were in attendance and photos from the weekend plus hopefully some added extras will be coming very soon! And if anybody here was at FedCon in Germany last weekend and has any photos they’d like to share with us, please contact us!

It’s now under a month until Starfury: T1 so if you haven’t bought your ticket yet, do it now! There are very few Gold Tickets left, but regular passes will be on sale until April 20th. Tickets will be available on the door (subject to availability) but the price will increase from £78.50 to £90, so it’s in your interests to book early!

T1 will take place at the Hilton Metropole, Birmingham, from Friday April 24th to Sunday April 26th. Guests appearing alongside Jonathan include Summer Glau & Stephanie Jacobsen (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Adam Baldwin & Zachary Levi (Chuck), Amy Acker (Dollhouse), Felicia Day (Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog) and bonus guests Clare Kramer, Georges Jeanty and Dominic Keating.

He’s also a scheduled guest at FedCon in Germany the following weekend.

Amber Benson has a new blog and Twitter, where you can keep up with her latest news and information. One of her first posts is titled Art vs Commerce, but more specifically it’s about Drones. She mentions Jonathan a little, and talks about the experience of shooting and producing it. She mentions that she hopes that “someone out there in festival land falls in love with it as much as I have”, so as she requested, lets all keep our “fingers, noses and toes” crossed that it happens and we all get to see the movie soon!

Very many birthday wishes to Jonathan today. Yes, it’s his birthday. Rach and I here wish him a very happy birthday!

Amber appeared at Collectormania in the UK this weekend, and we were lucky enough to get a few minutes to speak to her about Drones. She told us that they’re almost finished cutting the movie together, and was very excited about Jonathan’s involvement. In her words; “he’s the lead, he’s in every scene”, and she was keen to mention that “he’s really good – he’s like a young Bill Murray!”

She happily chatted about the movie, and pointed us towards this article from the Baton Rouge based 225 Magazine to share with you guys.

Before leaving, we jokingly asked her if Jonathan dies in this one, and she laughed, telling us that no, it’s not a dying type of movie. “But I die all the time too,” she grinned. “So I feel his pain.”‘

Jonathan has been confirmed as a guest for next year’s FedCon. The event will be taking place at the Hotel Maritim in Bonn, Germany, on May 1st-3rd 2009.

“FedCon, short for FederationCon, is Europe’s greatest STAR TREK convention that gradually evolved into Europe’s largest Sci-Fi related event. Created by a young Dirk Bartholomae over 16 years ago, the first meeting was held in Augsburg where its facility proved to be too small and eventually moved to Munich. After the crowds proved to be again too small, Dirk moved his convention to Bonn, Germany, and then again to it’s new home in Fulda only to return back to Bonn for FedCon XVI. FedCon is a liscensed event recognized and approved by Paramount Pictures’ legal department.”
