It’s the US Elections and the prime candidate discovers his campaign manager has a secret which looks set to ruin his prospects. 160 years later the world has changed and what was once taboo is now the norm.

The show runs Tuesday to Saturday at 8.15pm and Saturday & Sunday at 5pm as well. You can book tickets online here or by phone on 0870 033 2733. For more information on the theatre’s location and facilities, visit their website.

Jonathan to MC Vortex II

UT Events have announced that Jonathan will be MCing their Doctor Who/Torchwood event in Belfast next weekend. The event is to be held at the Europa Hotel on Sunday, May 2nd, and the guests attending are Kai Owen (Rhys Williams, Torchwood), Rakie Ayola (The Hostess, “Midnight”, Doctor Who), and Lachlan Nieboer (Gray, Torchwood).

Tickets cost £10, plus a £2 processing fee. To book tickets, visit their website.

Jonathan will be MC for the entire event, from introducing guests for their Q&As to running (or potentially disrupting) our game show.  He will be taking care of the auction, raffle and fancy dress competition and, no doubt, partying late into the night.  We’re not sure yet what he has planned for the day (which makes us a little nervous!) but we know each and every one of you will leave with a new appreciation for the ultimate convention MC – Jonathan Woodward.

For more information you can follow UT Events on Twitter.

Drones screenings!

Since Drones premiered to critical acclaim at Slamdance in January, information about various screenings have been popping up. We’ve got the details here!

The big one is the Los Angeles Premiere, which will take place on April 13th at the Egyptian Theater, Hollywood. All proceeds will benefit 826LA. Amber, Adam and the full cast will be in attendance for this red carpet event. All tickets include the movie itself and Q&A with members of the cast & crew. Balcony tickets cost $15 plus a $1.74 booking fee, while regular tickets are $30 plus a $2.49 fee.

For $100, you can get all of that, plus entry to the private afterparty, featuring a performance by Dan Bern and Common Rotation, and a 2 hour open bar.

Tickets are on sale now, here.

Drones is also an official selection of the Florida Film Festival in Orlando. There are two available screenings – April 10th at 9.15pm, and April 16th at 4.30. Tickets can be purchased from the FFF website, and tickets cost $10. Amber and cast member Samm Levine will be presenting the movie at the screening on the 16th.

Drones is now an official selection of the Newport Beach film festival. The screening will take place on Saturday April 24th at 4.45pm at Edwards Island Cinemas. Tickets cost $12.

Finally, the UK Premiere will be as part of Sci-Fi-London 2010, on May 3rd (Bank Holiday Monday) at 5.15pm. Sci-Fi-London have a new website launching on Tuesday (which is allegedly easier to navigate!) but for now you can view the festival programme here in flipbook form – Drones is listed on page 23 with a slight mispelling of Amber’s name. Tickets are available directly from ApolloCinemas until the new site launches – from the “Quick Book” section, select “Piccadilly Circus” as your cinema (not “Piccadilly Circus – Film Fest” as for some reason only one film is listed there) and from there you should be able to select the Drones screening as your movie of choice. Tickets cost £12 plus 60p per ticket booking fee. It’s currently scheduled to take place in Screen 1 which holds 88 people, so if you want to buy a ticket, do it quickly before it sells out!

Drones video interview

Very fun Drones interview with Jonathan in Park City, Utah, at the Conair Rusk Media Lounge at Sundance.

Drones Roundup

Drones had its official premiere at Slamdance this weekend, and there are a lot of reviews/pictures etc coming out of that, which I’ll get to in a second, but first the most important thing: Jonathan is officially now on Twitter! You can follow him @JonnyWallet. And if you’re on Twitter and you’re not already following @Amber_Benson and @dronesmovie, those are two great places to get updated on what’s happening with Drones!

Check out Jonathan and Amber in the Slamdance gifting suite (article & video) at The Wrap.

“We want to distribute it ourselves,” said Benson. “Because if people like something, they don’t just want to see it once, they want to own a piece of it, they want the DVD, they want extras.”

Woodward: “Our aim is to get the word out. And a distribution deal, oddly, might work against that.”

Slug Magazine and the Sundance Blog have both posted great reviews of the movie.

Amber Benson and Adam Busch, along with more cast and crew from Jonathan’s upcoming movie Drones have appeared on the Kevin Pollak’s Chat Show. If you didn’t get a chance to see it it’s on the website or alternatively right here:

New Drones Trailer

There’s a new trailer for Drones, edited by Toby Wilkins, who directed the critically acclaimed 2009 horror film Splinter. The movie premieres next week at Slamdance film festival in Park City, Utah, and ahead of that premiere, SciFiWire has posted the new trailer and official movie description.

Brian Dilks is an Office Drone. He spends his days at OmniLink in comforting monotony: facilitating the movement of product around the country, faxing, copying, joking with his best friend, Clark, and harmlessly flirting with fellow cubicle-mate, Amy.

But how well does anyone really know the people they work with?

When Brian discovers an improbable secret about his best friend, everything in Brian’s world changes and his safe life of workplace detachment is no longer an option.

Shocked out of his mind-numbing routine by this new discovery, Brian throws himself into a star-crossed romance with Amy–yet close encounters of the office kind, like sales or intergalactic war, is an uncertain business.

You can also now view the Drones poster on the official Facebook page. Drones premieres at Slamdance on Saturday January 23rd at 5pm, with a repeat screening on January 25th at 10am. To buy tickets, visit dronesmovie.com or the official Slamdance ticket site.

Haiti Earthquake Relief

Last summer, Jonathan visited Haiti to work with The International Association for Human Values (IAHV). I’m sure you’re all aware that Haiti was struck by an earthquake on Tuesday, and as one of the world’s poorest countries, they need all of the help they can get at this devastating time.

The IAHV are now actively raising funds and affecting donations to send to the areas most in need of help. To donate, visit iahv.com/donate.asp and make sure the dropdown is set to Haiti Earthquake Relief. The default option is to donate in US dollars, however if you scroll down the page you will find more information on donating from other countries using credit cards and/or bank transfer in your own currency.

Jonathan-Woodward.com would like to join Browncoat Events in supporting this cause.

Drones is here!

Great news. Amber Benson has posted a few new details about her new movie, Drones, starring Jonathan. There’s a Facebook Fan Page for the movie where you can find some new photos and also a link to the trailer, which you can see here:

View the official movie site.

The movie will premiere in January 2010 at the Slamdance Film Festival.
